Internet Safety

At Harper ISD, we believe in the importance of teaching our students, parents and staff how to stay safe online.  Areas of concern for today's technology users include: cyberbullying, online predators, identity theft, and inappropriate use.  The following links can aide in educating ourselves on such subjects.

Stop. Think. Connect - Stop and think before you connect, be cautious in all that you say and do on the internet.  Be safe and understand the consequences of your actions.

NetSmartz - is sponsored by The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which provides information and resources to law enforcement, parents and children.

Guard Online - gives information to parents on how to help keep kids safe online.

A Parent's Guide to Internet Safety  - Provided by the FBI

FBI-Safe Online Surfing - features six grade-specific “islands” for 3rd thru 8th grades highlighting various aspects of cyber security through games, videos, and other interactive features.

Cyber-Safety - Texas Office of the Attorney General -  safety resources for parents, educators, kids, tweens, and teens.

Common Sense Media - provides the latest research, tips and tools on what really keeps kids safe.  Common Sense Media is the primary curriculum being used to teach Technology Applications at Harper ISD.
